AFtv to start operations in Nigeria

Nine years after starting out in the Netherlands, African Television, AFTtv, is set to commence operations in Nigeria.
While the TV station which started on March 1, 2010 has spread to African countries such as Uganda, Cameroon and South Africa, it is finally set to start operations in Nigeria, the country of origin of its founder, Larry Omodia.
According to Omodia, AFtv is just going to begin operations in Nigeria this year because Nigeria is a difficult market to enter compared to some other countries.
He said: “Suffice it to say that God’s time is always the best and when God says the time is right for you to do something, that’s when you get it done and that’s why we’re finally coming into the Nigerian market now.”
While Omodia is presently in Europe, he’s represented in Nigeria by Dr David Lucas, Director of Operations, AFtv Nigeria, and IfeChukwude Martyns-Etunum, Technical Director, AFtv Nigeria, and the Nigeria broadcasting will begin later in the year on one of the cable TV platforms.
